  • You Have to Visualize Your Desire to Attract Your Desire

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS When we are consistent in our Visualization, we can overcome fears and gain self-confidence. We can make our brain realize the unknown, control our fears and anxieties coming from negative thoughts and anticipate future events. If we visualize future events with positive outcomes, we can train our brains to think it is a real event, and that it has already occurred. By doing this, we will be acquiring a new skill. The Visualization process will also improve our way of looking at things. This technique will help us to override old beliefs and myths. Using Visualization in a deep meditative state, you will be able to reprogram yourself while visualizing your goals and desires. So close your eyes and set an intention. Visualize what you want. Imagine the situation or future event you would like to work on. Be specific with details. Make sure you have a strong emotion aligned with your Visualization. Practice this technique as often as you can and you will see how your self-confidence, attitude and behavior will improve and align with your goals and desires. Being consistent with your Visualization exercises will assist you in gaining self-confidence. This exercise will help your brain see a challenge, impossible idea or even fear as a comfortable moment. Let’s say, that in a way, while we exercise Visualization, we are training our brain to see something that is negative with a positive outcome. This happens because we are treating the Visualization as if it has already happened. It is as if we are re-training our brain to convert a negative feeling into a positive outcome. Overall, the Visualization of desires will also help us to be more positive in situations and challenges. While we exercise and implement Visualization techniques, we will discover that we can override beliefs and myths that we grew up with. Using this technique can assist you in achieving your goals and desires in a more organic and happier way. Just start imagining and visualizing what you want. Start visualizing a specific situation that you would like to work on including as many specific details as possible. While you are doing it, use a strong intention with your emotions. Align yourself with your desires and you will see how everything will start changing such as your attitude and your behaviors and the way you see new challenges. Understanding the Law of Attraction can assist you in this process. It can also help with your physical body. • Florida Assisted Living Medicaid Assistance?

These days, Retirement Homes or Senior Living Facilities are the most searchable words online, as families are looking for an Alternative Housing or a place for Mom, Dad or a loved one. Many times, families begin their online search with sentences like, Elder Care Home Services or In- Home Services for Seniors as an alternative to Assisted Living Facility or a Nursing Home. Families are starting to realize that In-home care for the elderly is not always the best choice financially. That’s when families begin to search for an Assisted Living Facility near them, without understanding what to ask or look for, or what they really need, based on the care, budget, and geographical needs. At times, a Medicaid Nursing Home is recommended or is the appropriate choice for a specific moment. Whatever your situation may be, Placement Counselors Corp. can be your Senior Advisor for all your senior care assistance needs. We have over 25 years of experience in the tri- county area of Southeast Florida, Miami Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County. Just remember we are a Local Counselors Agency in Florida, and we are a phone call away. Note that Florida Medicaid doesn’t directly finance Assisted Living Facilities. Nonetheless, there are many programs under Medicaid that do reimburse for personal care services received in an assisted living facility. Room and Board is not covered by Medicaid Managed Long Term Care Program. The eligible Floridians may have their personal care services, such as assistance with activities of daily living, reimbursed under Florida’s Medicaid Long – Term Care Waiver program. It’s imperative to note that ALL Florida residents aren’t entitled to receive funding from the Medicaid Managed Long Term Care Program, and the number of participants under this benefit program is limited – you may be put on a wait list and you MUST qualify financially and clinically to receive the benefits. NOT everyone who qualifies will be able to take advantage of the funding provided due to limited funding. • Leave Your Ego at the Door in Business?

Working with our Ego can be uncomfortable, challenging, trying and sometimes quite a struggle! Most of the time, we think that our Ego is our friend. We take energy from our Ego but it is not always good energy. The reality is that our Ego can narrow the view of the clear and whole picture. Ego plays with our feelings and our conscious mind. It makes us believe that being powerful and having feelings of always being the Winner is the only correct feeling for a business person. To the contrary, that feeling of always being the winner does not allow us to see business opportunities nor the needs of the other party that need to be fulfilled. If we fulfill the needs of the other party, a good transaction may occur and therefore benefit us financially and professionally. It is important to keep our Ego under control so we can manage our businesses in a more balanced manner. Becoming a good listener will help us become a faster thinker. As Entrepreneurs, we are supposed to fulfill a need and if we do not listen carefully, we will not be able to fulfill that need. Many times, when I talk about EGO, people tell me that, for them, it is a must to be in business, especially to be in business for themselves. Well, for me, I would like to say it is important to be CONFIDENT IN YOURSELF. Confidence comes from the Power that is within you and your belief in your knowledge and talent. EGO is something false since it is based on delusion and wishful thinking. You see, the big difference between EGO and CONFIDENCE is that confidence bears its own weight and truth. Confidence has humility and it’s based on something real. It allows us to relate to others better when we don’t feel insecure or being compared to, or put in the same bed as everyone else. The reality is that your EGO can really hurt you. But you can manage your EGO with simple, minor changes in your behavior. How many times do we interrupt others? Just taking the time to not interrupt others and focus on trying to understand them is a great way to manage your EGO. Many times we are thinking about an answer while the other person is talking to us. That means that we are not concentrating on what the other person is saying. Therefore, we are not trying to understand the other person. Try not to immediately judge when you hear someone talking. Try not to immediately push your ideas. It’s all about taking the time to understand and listen to the other person. You want to be able to listen and manage your EGO while you try to identify what your EGO is doing to you and your behavior while you interact with others. You have to reflect and practice every day at home, at the grocery store and even at work. This is not an easy task at the beginning because we are trying to manage something that works like a little voice inside our head telling us or making us feel how GOOD we are or how IMPORTANT we are. But the truth is, sometimes these messages are based on our illusions. So now that we have identified the problem, do we have techniques or exercises to manage or cure the problem? It is not hard to adopt these techniques if we are serious about altering our behavior. In a way, it’s taking responsibility for something that we are doing that is generating nothing positive to our lives at all. So, if you want to be successful, let’s rethink your EGO and concentrate on your CONFIDENCE, based in truth, humility and being grateful. • Should YOU Make an Appointment to Tour an Assisted Living Community?

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS Should YOU Make an Appointment to Tour an Assisted Living Community? YES! YES! YES! You should make an appointment to tour any type of alternative housing especially an Assisted Living Community or an Alzheimer’s Dementia / Memory Care Unit in Broward, Dade and Palm Beach County. Having been an Administrator of very large communities, I have witnessed, firsthand, what can happen when people just “Show up” for a tour of an ALF, Assisted Living Community or a Locked Special Care Unit. You may come upon a scenario that is unpleasant or unnerving. Things happen in communities with an elderly population, and the community should not be judged by an isolated incident, but by how it is handled by the staff. Another important reason you should make an appointment to tour an Assisted Living Facility or an Alzheimer’s Dementia Special Care units, is the fact that you want to tour the Assisted Living community with the Sales or Marketing Representative, not a receptionist or office worker as a fill in. While they may be able to show you around, they are not going to be able to answer all of your questions and give you the personal attention that you will require in making this important decision. So, if you are planning to set up a tour for an Assisted Living Facility or a Alzheimer’s Dementia Special Care unit make an Appointment and make sure you get your answers to your questions from a good source without wasting your time. PCC can assist you in arranging the tours and Facilities for you or your loved ones at no cost to you. For more information, please contact Placement Counselors Corp. as a FREE service. Be advised that many times people do things that are not legal. A Licensed Facility must have a contract if they are operating an Assisted Living Facility in Broward County. Every state requires a contract! In this contract, you will find the monthly costs and a list of services that the individual will be receiving at the Broward Assisted Living Community. This is why a contract is needed to protect you, the resident, and the Assisted Living Facility. It is very important to know that a contract may be broken by giving a written notice in the time frame required by the state in which the facility is located, and by the community policy. A Facility can also give you notice, telling you that they want your loved one to vacate the community. So, the answer to the question, “Is it necessary to have a contract in an Assisted Living Community?” is YES! • Let's be Centered, Balanced & Successful NOW!

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS Always on the go and always taking care of business, family, work and so many other things while we forget how to take care of ourselves. We forget that we not Superheroes that can do and accomplish everything exactly when we want to! So many factors can take us to a place of no pleasure or enjoyment. Our Ego and our lack of time for ourselves can lead us to dark moments or even to moments of depression and imbalance. Balance and peace is my happiness and success and when I have these things, it allows me to fulfill my goals in a calm and comfortable manner. Many of us are big dreamers, goal achievers and/or fighters for success and this can lead us to be more greedy, less humble and less grateful. It is important to have a Coach, if you feel that you need support, who can assist you in these matters and help you achieve your goals, while understanding that the ultimate goal is to feel good and do things that will give you pleasure. Sometimes we think that WORK or a JOB has to be unpleasant. Even if we like what we are doing, we still get that “Sunday night sinking feeling” knowing we have to go back to work on Monday morning. You don’t need to feel that way, nor do you need to even think that way. Remember, negative thoughts will bring negative outcomes. So, based on my experience, replace that bad feeling with something positive or something that will bring you pleasure throughout the day. Corporations have very powerful individuals in positions that set the mood and energy for the corporation. The biggest problem with these professionals is their EGO! If these professionals have negative thoughts and negative approaches to their management, you can imagine what the outcome will be for the corporation. Many times people blame a corporation or business for its failure but in reality, it is the employers and managers who make or destroy a corporation. It is all about understanding how you want to lead and manage your employees and how you want to achieve your goals without the interference of EGO. Let’s be clear that EGO is very different from being confident in your product or your individual competence. It is all about how you want to live your life and how enjoyable you want your work environment to be. YOU can manage your surroundings because YOU ARE POWER and you are part of Source! Every individual has the power to change what does not give them pleasure. We come to this earth plane, not to suffer, but to learn and evolve. Managing your surroundings and negative people in your workplace can be managed as well as protecting yourself. Feeling unbalanced is not productive for anyone. Having that unpleasant feeling, our anxiety level will rise. Many times, feelings of depression get in our way when we let our minds take over and we lose our spiritual balance. Once we balance ourselves, we can begin to see things more clearly and we’re able to proceed with our work without distortions. With my experience as a Serial Entrepreneur with a holistic touch and knowledge, I can assist you and guide you with different types of alternative energy healing techniques or Law of Attraction, so you are able to manifest your desires. Businessman, professionals or people with personal issues can benefit from these techniques. These techniques can provide you with more balance and give you enjoyable steps to follow while you are achieving and manifesting your desired goals. It is not just the desire of wanting something that is going to lead you to manifest your desires. While understanding that an intense desire can lead to manifestation, it is also important to remember that you have to be able to imagine and visualize that desire as part of the process. It is crucial to focus and believe in the process and in the steps you have to take. Everything will be connected with everything and you will enjoy the process with gratitude and affirmation that what you want is a part of your being and your desire. Your physical body experiences your thoughts and when you feel good, you and everything you see looks better. There are few things of greater value than the achievement of health and physical well-being. Not going does a good feeling body promote positive thoughts but positive thoughts promote a good feeling body. Imagination equals conceptualization. I always say that being successful is not just being able to reach a goal.....it is more than that. Being successful is being able to enjoy and learn from every step that is taken to reach a desired goal. For me personally it took many years of hard work and unhappy moments to be able to understand how to let my EGO and my traditional way of doing business go. THIS IS YOUR TIME! And this is the moment for you to put yourself first and to remember that you are in this life to learn and evolve. You are not here to suffer. Even if you are in pain at times, you have to learn from it with gratitude and without losing your intense focus so you may achieve your goal of the ultimate state of peace, balance and pleasure. I am just a BRIDGE OF ENERGY AND KNOWLEDGE...... and together, we can take steps forward toward the manifestation of your desires in your life or professional career. Let me guide you to be centered, balanced and successful! • Moving Elderly Parents to SE Florida From Another Area, Country or State

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS South Florida is the Sunshine State, and it is loved by many seniors and their families due to the lovely warm weather year around. It is not news that many people choose to retire in Florida. Now, many of the younger generation moves to Florida sooner than their parents did. Trying to understand the healthcare industry in the United States is crucial and complicated at the same time; especially when we are trying to relocate or transition from one location to another. Since 1999, I’ve been assisting families with information on Florida Senior Care Benefits and Services, to include Veteran’s Benefits Resources and Solutions for South Florida. My commitment is to provide focalized assistance to clients and families in need of a brief intervention while transitioning through new situations, problems, or disabilities, as well as transitioning to a New Location. In my 25 years as a Geriatric Specialist in Southeast Florida, I have helped clients and families navigate the healthcare system and coordinate psychosocial, clinical and financial programs, assisting you and your loved ones as they go through transition. Considering the possibility of bringing Mom, Dad or a loved one from out of state, out of the area or country, is challenging and mind boggling. One of the things I specialize in is the coordination of Benefits and Services needed in the state of Florida for a smooth transition. Every state and country may require re-applying for new services or benefit programs. Most benefit programs are based on state regulations and differ from state to state, as well as from country to country. My objective is to provide the correct information, services and resources while helping you to achieve your objectives and solve problems while finding an Assisted Living Facility or Senior Housing such as an Independent Living Facility, or an Alzheimer’s Dementia Care Unit. So…… let me personally guide you, step by step, or as I always tell my clients, one step at the time. Together, we will find the appropriate Senior Housing for your loved one. Together we will work on what you need in order to bring your loved one to your area. It is very important to know that all Senior Housing and Assisted Living Facilities in Florida must have a written Admission Criteria Policy, by regulation. Since all Assisted Living Facilities in Southeast Florida must be regulated and surveyed to provide care to its residents, an Admission Criteria Policy should be included in your contract, so you will know what is allowed and what is not. You should know what services the community will be able to, or is capable of providing. You should not waste your time, driving around without the information you must have and know before visiting a community. In some cases, the criteria for being admitted into an Assisted Living Facility is as simple as a person being able to transfer from one chair to another with assistance. This is required for some facilities, but not for every facility. The idea of being in an Assisted Living Facility is for the resident to be able to assist in completing an Activity of Daily Living task. The purpose of an Assisted Living Facility is to “ASSIST,” not to actually DO the task for the resident. Assisted Living Facility Admission Criteria are not only based on clinical aspects, but on many other issues, such as safety. A prospective resident must be physically able to exit the building, with assistance, in a fire drill, or any other emergency situation. In some cases, Assisted Living Facilities in Broward County will not admit people even if they can transfer. Knowing beforehand, what type of license the community has is vital and why you should be working with Placement Counselors Corp. If you are given places to tour by Placement Counselors, you will KNOW before you go if the place is the correct one to bring your loved one. Before bringing the person physically near you, Health Care Insurance coverage will be imperative and necessary, as well as other benefit programs that may apply to your loved one. These are things to keep in mind, as well as many other things to consider. Placement Counselors is just a phone call away and I can help you, free of charge, select Senior Housing or Assisted Living in Southeast Florida. I will be able to assist you in determining whether a small or a large Assisted Living Facility is appropriate your loved one. I specialize in Southeast Florida, concentrating in Miami Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. • Understanding Your Mission is Understanding Your Happiness

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS Energy Healer On this path, we all have a mission. In this human body, we all have a mission to fulfill. I would like to talk about how we can discover or realize our mission or purpose on this plane. I am going to approach this subject from my personal experience since I am just a bridge of knowledge and energy like everyone else. I am not a Master, nor a Guru. I am just a soul who understands his path. With time, I have learned to make sense of what I have already experienced and lived through on this plane and what I have experienced in past lives through meditations and other techniques. If we think about it, from the time we are born, we go through moments and situations in life that we may or may not have understood completely at the time. It is important to mention that understanding experiences will take time, reading, dedication, studying and the desire to understand them and the willingness to learn. We need to have a strong desire if we want to try to understand why. Throughout our lives we go through many situations. We need to try to determine what the message is for us to learn in each situation. We need to get to that AHA! moment when we realize what the message is! In my personal case, it took me some time before I allowed myself to pay attention and to learn from my life moments. Then I had to put it into perspective. Once I realized what the message was I was then able to implement it in my daily life and therefore further my personal growth and my self-improvement. With this realization, I began to incorporate other activities in my life such as: meditation, reading, studying and trying to understand myself, my ego, my behaviors, my spiritualism and my energy. It is a very intense and committed step to begin this process. Everyone can do it if you are determined to find your balance and inner peace. One of the most difficult things is fighting with your ego. It is not easy. Our ego is always present and always challenging us. The commitment is with yourself and with your soul. We are human but we are spiritual as well. We are SOURCE!!! We are part of Source because we are energy! Our physical body is full of energy! Let me just say that we are in this physical plane because our soul made a contract with Source. We are here to keep learning things that we have to learn, experience things that we need to experience, or resolve things that need to be resolved. We do not come to this earthly plane to suffer with no purpose. We do have a purpose and sometimes it may feel humanly painful, but we must take the steps to understand why or what is the message that needs to be learned. Many times, when I talk about this subject I am looked at like, “yeah, yeah....”. They also look at me as a dreamer or an idealistic thinker. But it comes back to the desire to know “the WHY.” Why do we go through certain experiences or feelings or even illnesses in our lives on this plane? But anyone can do this, if they choose to. Or you can choose to ignore it and keep complaining about how bad or how unlucky you have been in this life. It’s all about understanding and taking responsibility. Oh, here I go again, another big idealistic phrase… LOL I think that it is all about responsibility and wanting to learn to be a part of the solution. We are on this path to learn, become better and evolve. Let’s be responsible when we select the path we are going to focus on or take. Along the way, we will also change paths with the intention of growth. We are energy and we manage our own energy. We are rational thinkers and as such, we have the power to direct that energy where ever we choose to. We are also emotional and spiritual and that will give us the ability to discover what makes us feel good and what gives us pleasure. So, is this a lot to handle? I think that it is just a matter of finding the courage and the strength, coupled with a true desire to change your life. This new desire will lead you on a path to answers and results. It is easy to blame others and find excuses for our own wrongdoing or even for certain situations that we find ourselves in throughout our lives. Let’s start taking responsibility as we are part of the equation. Because we are feeling something in certain situations, we are involved in the matter and we need to take responsibility as one of the players. Taking responsibility does not mean that we are always at fault and even if we are, it is more than that. Taking responsibility is taking the time to understand why something is happening and what we can do to change it. In any given situation, remember you are the main player and you have the power to change a negative situation into a positive one. You can’t change others but you can, at least manage your energy in any way you choose to. We need to learn and understand that we are the directors of our own energy. Being in charge of your own energy will allow you to manage any given moment in a specific situation where feelings are involved. You have the power to change, direct and establish your right to feel good, happy, balanced and in peace. You can move the energy in any situation toward any direction you choose and in that moment, you will realize that you are in charge. Remember being in charge is taking responsibility. This is when we realize that we are responsible for our own happiness in our lives. So let me just say that once we take responsibility for our actions, emotions, consequences and spiritual mission, that is the moment when we begin a new path to happiness and growth toward an endless vortex that will be managed and enjoyed by you and others. Did I say that once we achieve that feeling, it is going to be easy? Of course not. I am saying that it is the beginning of taking responsibility for your own happiness and that you are ready to begin a new path. You will have to work on things that you desire and want to achieve. Maintaining that vortex or that state of high energy 24/7 is very difficult and almost unreasonable. Because we are human and we have much to learn and practice, there will be many moments that take us out of that balanced feeling. We need to be consistent with practicing to achieve that good feeling, being balanced and peaceful. Eventually it will become easier and easier to achieve your ultimate goals. Remember our first mission is to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for our own happiness! I am just a Bridge of Energy and knowledge.
