  • Assisted Living Near Me in Broward County

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS Assisted Living Near Me in Broward County Selecting an Assisted Living Facility for yourself or a loved one in Broward County it is not an easy task, and if you are planning to visit often, finding an Assisted Living facility near you it should be a must or something to be considered. There are many Assisted Living Facilities that may interest you in Broward County making sure these communities are a match based on your geographical needs of you and your loved one. You want it to be close to family and possibly, their doctor. Also, you will be able to manage traffic and driving times better and less stressful driving. It’s important to plan. After you choose the communities that you’re going to go and see, set up a tour. Dedicate a day to do this. Allow at least an hour for each community and time you’re driving so you can compare later on with other communities. You may want to see one in the morning, have lunch and see two in the afternoon. However, you want to do it, just make sure that you allow enough time to tour each community and time to get from one to the other. If it takes more than one day, that is fine also. The key is to stay calm and gather all of the information you are going to need to make a decision that both you and your loved one will be comfortable with. Having a Placement agency assisting you in the search can be beneficial for your loved one. PCC is just a phone call away and our local counselors near you will help you find the correct Assisted living facility free of charge. These days, Retirement Homes or Senior Living Facilities are the most searchable words online, as families are looking for an Alternative Housing or a place for Mom, Dad or a loved one. Many times, families begin their online search with sentences like, Elder Care Home Services or In- Home Services for Seniors as an alternative to Assisted Living Facility or a Nursing Home. Families are starting to realize that In-home care for the elderly is not always the best choice financially. That’s when families begin to search for an Assisted Living Facility near them, without understanding what to ask or look for, or what they really need, based on the care, budget, and geographical needs. At times, a Medicaid Nursing Home is recommended or is the appropriate choice for a specific moment. Whatever your situation may be, Placement Counselors Corp. can be your Senior Advisor for all your senior care assistance needs. • Mindfulness Will Lead You to be Fully Present

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS Let’s begin by saying that life can be overwhelming and our minds are filled with many interruptions and untrue beliefs that we contemplate as true. These beliefs can be generated culturally or created in our own minds. Even how we see the world can become distorted, and in this way, we begin to lose ourselves in the present. We can just simply, get lost. If we talk about relationships on top of what I just mentioned above, it can be very exhausting to anyone. All of these situations, without doubt, will impact our happiness, health, education, and work. It is good to understand that implementing mindfulness helped me to reconnect with myself when I felt so lost in this world where there was so much to appreciate and enjoy. It is a way to find the solutions for ending thoughts such as anger, indifference, and ‘forever’ attachments, just to name a few. When these feelings get ingrained in us, they generate a ‘suffering state.’ Even though it may not be a cure for everything, it is a very important step, Baby steps…Don’t run….One step at a time. What happens is that we go on a one-way track in our mind, believing whatever our mind tells us or manipulates us to think that we are fine. When we begin to understand that stories in our mind are just stories, it’s then that we are able to redirect those thoughts in a positive manner toward self-unconditional love. Let me share some definitions with you, as I always like to do, so we can get a better understanding of how Mindfulness is considered by society and man. Mindfulness has demonstrated benefits from physical health and mental well-being as well as treating illnesses and managing symptoms of stress and anxiety. One of the best things about mindfulness is that you can practice it anywhere. Mindfulness will lead you to be fully present Mindfulness will make you aware of where you are and what you are doing Mindfulness will help you to not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what is going on around you. Take a moment and read the above statement again. I will ask you to do this often with many statements. Now write it down. You need to read it many times so you can consciously understand and incorporate it in your mind and body. There are going to be a lot of things that you are going to read that you’ll want to say, “ok, ok, but is it really?” Be aware that your mind will want to discard it or make an excuse by saying, “Oh, sure, easy for you to say, but not for me, this won’t work for me.” This is a self-protective mind behavior just to prevent you from seeing the reality of what is going to hurt you or to prevent you from seeing the problem that you need to see to begin your healing process. I had to challenge my mind not to be so rigid and become more flexible to the point that I had to remind it that I was the boss and it was my intention to heal myself. We will talk more about that throughout the book. LEARN more about EMOTIONAL DEPENDENCY FREEDOM ----HERE As you go through an evaluation of your journey, you will realize that there are many things that you may need to change in order for you to achieve what you are looking for. This book is an evaluation of an individual that has just come out of a relationship healing process. That individual is me. Or, it could be you. As you heal, you ask yourself, “How come I didn’t see this before?” Maybe now you realize that must be changed for the sole purpose of achieving peace of mind, happiness, or even some sort of freedom and independency in your life. Emotional Dependency can occur in many types of relationships, not just in a romantic, love relationship. Emotional relationships include children with their parents, parents with their children, co-workers or any situation that is causing you to be dependent. If you do not find your ‘true self,’ and become true to your feelings, nothing will work, especially with a dependency. It is my intention to help you by sharing my experiences as well as teaching you how to embrace and honor yourself. In my case, I did a complementation of traditional and alternative medicine treatments that I will share with you throughout this book. As an Energy Healer, I needed to combine the traditional and the alternative for a more natural healing process. I will teach you how to use the Law of Attraction, Akashic Records, Meditation, and exercises and techniques that helped me to achieve what I was looking for. I will show you how we are all surrounded by messages as well as learning to recognize and interpret them. As part of the alternative methodology that I used, I will share my experiences with my archangels and spiritual guides. While using ‘mindfulness,’ you will reconnect with unconditional love. www.humbertofortuna.com LEARN more about EMOTIONAL DEPENDENCY FREEDOM ----HERE Humberto Fortuna, MA, MS, was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1968 where he earned his first Master of Arts degree at age 20. • What is the Best Age for an Assisted Living?

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS What is the Best Age for an Assisted Living? Finding the correct senior housing in Miami, Broward and Palm Beach counties is getting more difficult as we speak, due to higher costs for our Senior Citizens and Residents of Southeast Florida. Senior Housing and Long-Term Care Facilities such as Independent Living, Assisted Living, Nursing Homes, Memory Care, and Alzheimer’s Dementia Secured Facilities, are harder to find… the GOOD ONES! There are many reasons why a person has the need to move into a Long-Term Senior Community. Going back to our initial statement, the truth is that the average age of a resident in an Assisted Living Facility is a little over 83, and usually someone in need of at least one or more Activities of Daily Living. Some of the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) are showering, dressing, toileting, eating and medication management. The staff at the Assisted Living Facility is trained to provide assistance with all of those ADLs. We should mention here that the need for some type of lifestyle change is usually first indicated when a person has difficulty in one or more of the following areas: · Difficulty in self-care, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, or eating. · Decline in physical or mental health. · Family not available to provide care or supervision. As a result of new regulations and changes in the Health Care Industry, residents are now provided with more services in an Assisted Living Facility, to include, but are not limited to housekeeping and laundry services, transportation to doctors, social activities and 24-hour supervision. • NEGATIVE TO POSITIVE... How to Change - to +

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS I am so happy that we are talking about this subject because it is important for me to show you how I worked on myself and I am now able to give tips to a reader who may have similar issues that I have experienced. I now have the ability to understand how something that I always viewed as a negative, can now be seen in a positive light. The most interesting thing here is not so much that a negative can become a positive, but that we are the ones who have total control over it. This point can be debated over and challenged. Some people cannot see it, some want it but can’t get it, some people don’t have the resources, some people just don’t want it, and some people are just too far gone. And this is how I reply: “Of course, I understand all the possible scenarios that a person could experience on their journey. It is important not to ignore the resources that we have for our use and use them. We have professionals who can assist us and help us understand how to use the resources. But, there is something that we all do have in common and that is the INTENTION on how we want to implement them.” · The intention of getting better · The intention of being happier · The intention of being emotionally stable · The intention of having a good night’s sleep · The intention of putting yourself first · The intention of being safe · The intention of getting over a situation · The intention of WANTING IT SO BADLY that you will begin looking for resources that are available to you NOW The intention is what will help you, organically and energetically to achieve your desire. If you have a CONSCIOUS INTENTION, the Universe will help you achieve what you desire. Source, Universe, will be able to receive your vibrational desire and reply with the answers that you are requesting. When you are able to align yourself with Sourceand your intention, without putting up resistance, you will start to feel a new shift in your life. This shift is an energetic shift that will lead you to your outcomes in a positive manner. Taking the initiative with a clear intention of wanting to be happy and emotionally stable, is truly up to you. We spend our time on the computer, iPad, phone, or websites without a real purpose. Now, use those things to start researching for what is going to help you with your objectives. Most likely, if you are reading this book, you began by looking for a support system and resources that would help you find your emotional freedom. • Do Medicare Advantage Plans Pay for Assisted Living Facilities In Florida?

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS The answer is NO. Many people believe Medicare Advantage plans will pay for long stays in an Assisted Living Facility in Southeast Florida Broward, Dade or Palm Beach County, but it DOES NOT! In Florida, there are 627 Medicare Advantage plans available as of 2023 and there is not a single program that pays for Long Term Care or Nursing Home stay. Medicare Advantage plans must provide the same coverage as Original Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B. These plans also usually offer prescription drug coverage (Part D) and are called Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plans. Some plans include additional benefits not covered by Original Medicare – such as dental, vision, hearing, and more. BUT NO ONE covers Long Term Care Facilities or Assisted Living Facilities or Alzheimer’s Dementia Memory care units. Medicare Advantage plans will pay for skilled care Services and Therapy Services, Short term care, but they do not pay for Assisted Living Communities or home for the elderly. Medicare Advantage plans will give you services and care for a short period of time like a straight Medicare recipient. After your Short-term rehabilitation stay in a Rehabilitation Center or Skilled Nursing Center, paid by your Medicare Advantage plans, you will be transferred to Home, a Long term Care unit or to an Assisted living Facility or possibly into an Independent Living Community. Contact Placement Counselors Corp. under the supervision of Humberto Fortuna MA, MS – Geriatric Specialist, to assist you find your Long-Term Care Facility. • What is important on selecting an Assisted Living Facility in Broward County?

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS Let’s figure out what’s important in selecting an Assisted Living Facility in Broward County of Southeast Florida. Broward County has very important cities such as: Coconut Creek, Cooper City, Coral Springs, Dania Beach, Davie, Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hallandale Beach, Hillsboro Beach, Hollywood, Lauderdale Lakes, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Lauderhill, Lighthouse Point, Margate, Miramar, North Lauderdale, Oakland Park, Parkland, Pembroke Park, Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Pompano Beach, Sea Ranch Lakes, Southwest Ranches, Sunrise, Tamarac, Weston, Wilton Manors. AS I mention on my book :" Everything you Need to Ask When Selecting An Assisted Living Facility" Available on AMAZON.COM I explain more what to ASK prior going to an Assisted living Facility Tour. Many of you are looking for a community that is beautiful and fancy. While you want it to be nice, you have to realize the true needs of the person who will be living there. You know your loved one better than anyone else. Would a chandelier and marble floor be important to them? If it is, then you may have to take that into consideration. Otherwise, those items could make your loved one feel uncomfortable if he or she is not used to it. Also, while looking for communities to visit, remember that the largest and most expensive advertisement doesn’t always represent the most loving and caring place. When looking for communities, you can ask friends, go on the internet, talk to your clergy, look in the phone book, call a placement agency, or a social service agency. • What are the signs that an elderly person should not live alone?

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS Signs, Elderly Care, Senior, Safety, ALF, Assistance There are many sings that an elderly or older adult should not be living alone. We should mention here that the need for some type of lifestyle change is usually first indicated when a person has difficulty in one or more of the following areas: · Difficulty in self-care, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, or eating. · Decline in physical or mental health. · Malnutrition and dehydration. · Family not available to provide care or supervision. As a result of new regulations and changes in the health care industry in the state of Florida, residents in Dade, Palm Beach County and Broward County are now provided with more services in an Assisted Living Facility to include but are not limited to: housekeeping and laundry services, transportation to doctors, social activities and 24 hour supervision. A benefit of assisted living for the family is that they have the assurance their loved one is in a safe space and in a comfortable environment. Senior living situations can be stressful for any family, whether or not the senior lives with them full-time. When a senior moves into assisted living, family members can rest assured that their loved one is safe in a supportive environment, eating well, socializing, and receiving the care they need. • Assisted Living Community in Palm Beach County, Should I Make an Appointment for a Tour?

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS YES! YES! YES! You should make an appointment to tour any type of alternative housing especially an Assisted Living Community or an Alzheimer’s Dementia / Memory Care Unit in South, Central or North Palm Beach County regions. YES! AS I mention on my book " Everything you Need to Ask When Selecting An Assisted Living Facility" Available on AMAZON.COM I dedicated a whole chapter on how to prepare yourself prior going to an Assisted living Facility Tour. Having been an Administrator of very large communities, I have witnessed, firsthand, what can happen when people just “Show up” for a tour of an ALF, Assisted Living Community or a Locked Special Care Unit. You may come upon a scenario that is unpleasant or unnerving. Things happen in communities with an elderly population, and the community should not be judged by an isolated incident, but by how it is handled by the staff. Another important reason you should make an appointment to tour an Assisted Living Facility or an Alzheimer’s Dementia Special Care units, is the fact that you want to tour the Assisted Living community with the Sales or Marketing Representative, not a receptionist or office worker as a fill in. While they may be able to show you around, they are not going to be able to answer all of your questions and give you the personal attention that you will require in making this important decision. So, if you are planning to set up a tour for an Assisted Living Facility or a Alzheimer’s Dementia Special Care unit make an Appointment and make sure you get your answers to your questions from a good source without wasting your time. PCC can assist you in arranging the tours and Facilities for you or your loved ones at no cost to you in the following areas: Atlantis, Boca Inlet Aerial, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Greenacres, Gulf Stream Highland Beach, Haverhill, Hypoluxo, Jupiter, Lake Clarke Shores, Lake Okeechobee & The Glades, Lake Park, Lake Worth, Lantana, Loxahatchee Groves, North Palm Beach, Ocean Ridge, Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Beach Shores, Riviera Beach/Singer Island, Royal Palm Beach, Tequesta, Village of Golf, Wellington, West Palm Beach, West Palm Beach. • Florida Assisted Living Medicaid Assistance in Florida?

By Humberto Fortuna MA, MS Note that Florida Medicaid doesn’t directly finance Assisted Living Facilities. Nonetheless, there are many programs under Medicaid that do reimburse for personal care services received in an assisted living facility. Room and Board is not covered by Medicaid Managed Long Term Care Program. The eligible Floridians may have their personal care services, such as assistance with activities of daily living, reimbursed under Florida’s Medicaid Long – Term Care Waiver program. It’s imperative to note that ALL Florida residents aren’t entitled to receive funding from the Medicaid Managed Long Term Care Program, and the number of participants under this benefit program is limited – you may be put on a wait list and you MUST qualify financially and clinically to receive the benefits. NOT everyone who qualifies will be able to take advantage of the funding provided due to limited funding. AS I mention on my book :" Everything you Need to Ask When Selecting An Assisted Living Facility" Available on AMAZON.COM I explain more about financial assistance and what to ASK prior going to an Assisted living Facility Tour.
